Text by Didier Cammoski & Fabrice Donnaint

Article descended of the site of author Milirama entirely taken and put back in shape. It was made possible thanks to the author's kindness, Didier Cammoski, that gave me the authorization to revise it and to publish it. I am anxious therefore to thank Didier warmly.

For this first publication of an article figures on Panzerdesign,ce are the figurines of the "Kharkov" diorama of Didier Cammoski that are treated. It is in the setting of a wintry production that they have been achieved.

Historic presentation :
These German soldiers, members of a crew of armored or mechanized infantrymen are, for most donned of the reversible fight holding distributed for the winter 1942-43, that arranges a white face and a face grey mouse. Here they have been represented with the visible white face, in accordance with the photographs of which are inspired the argument of the playlet to which they are destined. On the Russian forehead within the Heeresgruppe Don of Manstein von, at the time of the defeat of Stalingrad and the serious consecutive crisis (December 1942 to March 1943.)

The holding of fight reversible model 1943:

The white-grey effect, in canvas of doubled cotton of wool garbage, is composed of one parka provided with a large hood, of a retained trousers inside by suspenders and a hood.
To the feet, our grenadiers and our gunners nearly have all shoed a pair of boots "big cold weather" type 1942, especially conceived for the Russian winter. The lower body and the sole are in fawn or blackened leather and the superior stem made of grey felt. To the hands, they carry essentialy the gloves of wool knitted of grey color, in standard endowment. Most Schützens represented here, protect themselves the neck and the ears with a pass-mountain (the Kopschützer), simple tube in elastic wool knit, given like a Feldgrau nuance (green grey) very dark.

Two variants of boots big cold weather made of fawn leather is presented in detail, (pieces of reinforcement leather, paws of tightening returned, sewings.)
- Militaria n° 78 : Close shot of a sentry in holding of winter, with a pair of boots big cold weather made of blackened leather, a pair of overboots to soles made of wood, an assortment of gloves (in knit of wool, Feldgrau mitten, mitten of grey felt.)

The other sartorial effects:

The essential of the hairdressings raised by our characters, to know except the helmeted infantrymen and the colonel in Schirmütze (cap of officer to rigid visor), consist in different models of Feldmütze (hairdressing of country in the shape of marble). For the officers it is about the Feldmütze 1938, traced on the troop's Feldmütze 1934, but achieved in thinner cloth and raising some pipings in thread of aluminum around the summit and on the curvature of the frontal headband.

On this model the frontal headband is sewn, besides it is decorated with the national rosette and a braid in V reversed to the color of weapon (the white designates some infantrymen, our gunners of assault are always used like supports of infantry). although a guideline of September 1942 abolished the port of the braid to color of weapon on the headband of all marbles of officers as the troop, here it has been kept on the figures, first because it brings a note of color, and then because the official interdiction was at the time all recent where our subject situates the events, and that the military situation to the forehead was too critical to worry of the prescriptions of the bursary. Proof in is that the braid will be even visible in the headquarters of the Grossdeutschland during the summer 43, then...

The non-commissioned officers and men of the rank have here the Feldmütze of troop of the model 1942, that makes the transition with the cap to visor, typical of the period 1943-45. The Feldmutze 1942 recovers, like the previous model 1934-35, a headband closed by two buttons on the front that permits in winter to fold back the fold on the ears. It doesn't have braid of weapon and, the rosette is brought back the just headband above under the national eagle. Besides, it carries itself well horizontal on the chief. It is delivered between July 1942 and May 1943 but, coexist with the model 1934.

: The red braid on the headband of the Feldmütze 38 of the superior officer "Major" (commander) some middle indicates a gunner. This one wears to the neck a checkered, non authorized civil scarf. His pocket-size lamp, hung by a paw to a button of the parka, kept a red filter for the night. So that this element detaches itself well, it is necessary to surround it of a black feature, and to surround it with a blank metallic flange. This part has been retaken from the oil painting, at a time to refine the detail, and to give a satin effect.

2: In painting the knit appears by feature sped along longitudinal, edged of a straightforward sunny spell of the basis grey, in order to accentuate the effect of relief.
3: The Feldwebel in coat carries as for him of the mittens of Feldgrau sheet, where only the inch and the index are individualized, this last to push on the trigger of the weapon. The mittens are ample enough to be threaded over the gloves of wool.
4: As a matter of principle the white is not ever applied pure but broken with a suspicion of another color. The white of a cloth must remain therefore hot, it is necessary to attach him a little part of brown, of khaki, or even of "Green army". On the other hand, the painting on a helmet keeps a cold, metallic aspect, and for that to make must be cut with blue or blue grey. A lot of nuances of white are accessible anything that by the choice of the break hue and also by the dosage that is made some. Attention however to not to exaggerate the colorful contribution, otherwise one won't ever recover the dominant of white, even while solving very strong the bones (that is to say that the white "would be colored" definitely.) The sewings are underlined with the "Neutral grey" n°160, without worry of discretion. It gives a bigger presence to the garment while breaking the monotony of the white. Every dark feature is edged, on a side at least, with a feature of white very solved (pure or added of color "Flesh"), what has the effect of melting the shade better, and to correct the possible skids.

Pictures 01 to 10:
The following pictures retail a part of the diorama and mainly the action that is concentrated around the Stug III.
Picture 01: Two of the grenadiers of the diorama. They are close to the isba and listen to the conversation close to the Stug III.
Picture 02: Beautiful picture of the crew and the two officers present on the Stug III.
Picture 03: Then? What are news? Seem to say this officer, card in hand, that seems anxious of the continuation of the operations.
Picture 04: Another grenadier, rifle Kar 98k holding of the two hands, he is mocking. He must not know too much what to think all that and, don't imagine the future debacle of his army again.
Picture 05: Other picture of the figurines of the Stug III. Notice the different expression on each of the faces and, the detail of the painting of the gloves and the badges of the coifs.
Picture 06: Two of the officers close to the self-propelled. They carry their marbles, more convenient than the cap for the forehead.
Picture 07: This character in coat and armed of a MP 40 is distant enough of the main scene of the diorama and, he/it gives the impression to arrive.
